Celebrate the Year of the Goat at The Opposite House in Beijing
Chinese New Year in the capital of China is filled with fun and festivities. Families and friends gather to celebrate this traditional holiday with food, fireworks and plenty of entertainment. To welcome in the new year of the goat, The Opposite House presents the ‘Gongxi Facai’ room package, as well as a set dinner menu at Jing Yaa Tang, the Chinese restaurant.
‘Gongxi Facai’ room package, 18 to 24 February – Room rate starts at HKD 2,345 per night, this room package includes a relaxing one-night stay at The Opposite House, along with an exclusive Chinese New Year dinner for two at Jing Yaa Tang. The dinner will feature 8 dishes including Jing Yaa Tang’s signature Beijing roast duck. Appetisers include Chilled Cherry Tomatoes Marinated in Plum Sauce, Braised Beef and Mushroom Soup, and Duck Gizzard with Sichuan Pepper. As main dishes, guests will delight in Wok-fried Cuttlefish with Homemade X.O. Sauce, Wok-fried Chicken Breast and Shrimps with Water Chestnuts, and Wok-fried Choy Sum. A traditional warm Red Bean Soup with Lotus Seeds will be served to complete the festive meal.
After a night of rest, guests can enjoy breakfast at Village Cafè located on the first floor of the House where wide varieties of pastries, baked goods, as well as all time breakfast favourites await. Throughout the stay, The Opposite House provides complimentary mini-bar and Wi-Fi, along with unlimited use of workout and pool facilities. Flexible check-in and check-out times may be arranged according to availability.
Chinese New Year Dinner 18 February to 5 March – Priced at HKD 308 per person with a minimum of four people dining, this memorable set dinner will also feature Jing Yaa Tang’s signature Beijing roast duck. Chef Li Dong and his team have prepared a feast of 12 dishes to include appetisers such as Sliced Shin Beef with Homemade Vinegar and Chili Dip, Cordycep Mushrooms and Celery, hearty Hot and Sour Fish Roe Soup. Main dishes such as Steamed Cod Fish with Mushrooms and Pickled Vegetables, Stir-fried Shrimps with Mixed Nuts and Mustard, Wok-fried Boneless Chicken Dice with Chongqing Chilies and many more are also on the menu.
